Terms and conditions

These are the terms you agree to when you book a tour with Pink City Trails. Please read them before you book — especially the sections on what is included, what happens if plans change, and where you stand if something goes wrong.

Last updated: 18 September 2026

Who you are contracting with

Your contract is with Jahid Khan, trading as Pink City Trails, of 121 Hussain Colony, Beniwal Kanta, behind the petrol pump, Ramgarh Mode, Jaipur 302002, Rajasthan, India. In these terms, “we” and “us” means Pink City Trails, and “you” means the person making the booking and everyone travelling on it.

How a booking is made

When you submit a booking on this website you are making a request, not a confirmed reservation. We check that a licensed guide, a driver and a vehicle are free on your date, and then send you a confirmation email. Your booking exists from the moment that confirmation email leaves our office.

If we cannot run your tour on the date you asked for, we will tell you within 24 hours and offer the nearest alternative. Nothing is charged in the meantime.

Prices

  • All prices on this website are in US dollars and are per the unit shown — either per person or per car, as stated on each tour.
  • Prices include the guide, the vehicle, fuel, driver, tolls and parking unless the tour page says otherwise.
  • Monument entrance fees are not included unless a tour page explicitly says they are. Foreign-national ticket prices at Indian monuments change from time to time and are set by the Archaeological Survey of India, not by us.
  • Meals, drinks, tips and personal expenses are not included.
  • The price we confirm in your confirmation email is the price you pay. We will not raise it afterwards.

Payment

There is currently no online payment on this website. You pay your guide directly in cash or by card at the end of the tour, in Indian rupees at the day’s rate or in US dollars, whichever you prefer. We will confirm the exact amount in writing before your tour date so there are no surprises.

We do not ask for a deposit for single-day tours. Multi-day routes may require one; if so, it is stated clearly on the tour page and in your confirmation.

Changing your booking

Tell us as early as you can and we will do our best. Date changes are free if you ask more than 24 hours before the start time and we have availability. Adding travellers may change the price if it means a larger vehicle.

Cancellation

Cancellation and refund terms are set out in full on our cancellation and refund policy page, which forms part of these terms.

What we expect from you

  • Carry your passport. Indian monuments require photo identification for foreign nationals, and some will refuse entry without it.
  • Be ready at the agreed time. Jaipur traffic is unforgiving and a late start can cost you a monument.
  • Dress appropriately for religious sites. Shoulders and knees covered; shoes come off at temple entrances.
  • Tell us about health or mobility needs before you book. Several forts involve steep ramps and long stair climbs, and we would rather redesign your day than have you struggle through it.
  • Behave lawfully and respectfully. We may end a tour without refund if a traveller is abusive to our staff or breaks Indian law.

Monuments, closures and things outside our control

Monument opening hours, ticket prices and closure days are decided by the authorities that run them. Some sites close on particular days, during religious festivals, for restoration, or for state visits, often at short notice.

If a site is closed on your day, your guide will restructure the itinerary around it and tell you what has changed. This is not a cancellation and does not by itself entitle you to a refund, although we will refund any entrance fee you paid us and did not use.

Health, safety and insurance

Our vehicles are commercially licensed and insured as Indian law requires. Our guides hold government guide licences.

We strongly recommend you hold your own travel insurance covering medical treatment, trip cancellation and personal belongings. We do not provide travel insurance and cannot claim on your behalf.

Our liability

We are responsible for running your tour with reasonable skill and care. If we fail to do that and you suffer a loss as a direct result, we will put it right.

We are not liable for losses we could not reasonably have foreseen, for the acts of independent third parties such as monument authorities, airlines, hotels or restaurants, or for events outside our reasonable control. Except in cases of death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud — where we do not limit our liability at all — our total liability for any booking is limited to the amount you paid us for that booking.

Nothing in these terms removes any right you have under the law of your own country that cannot be removed by agreement.

Events outside anyone’s control

If a tour cannot run because of weather, strikes, curfews, roadblocks, political unrest, epidemic restrictions, natural disaster or any similar event, we will offer you a new date or a full refund of anything you have paid us. We cannot reimburse your flights, hotels or other arrangements — that is what travel insurance is for.

If something goes wrong

Tell your guide on the day if you can. Most problems are fixable within the hour, and almost none are fixable a week later. If it is not resolved, write to us through our contact page with your booking reference and we will respond within three working days.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Jaipur, Rajasthan have jurisdiction over any dispute.
